Synaxis of All Saints of Thasos

In 1999 the Sacred Metropolis of Philippi, Neapolis and Thasos announced that following the relevant approval of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, it has been determined that the Synaxis of All the Saints of the Island of Thasos will be celebrated on the first Sunday of September of each year, beginning in the year 2000.

Our Saints who lived or passed through this blessed island of ours, which is rich in culture, religiosity, piety and history, from antiquity to our days, are the protectors and patrons of this holy place, and they are:

1. Our Holy and God-bearing Father Daniel, who lived as a hermit on the small island of Krambousa near the island of Thasos,

2. Our Holy and God-bearing Father Euthymios, who lived as a hermit on Thasos,

3. Our Holy and God-bearing Father Luke, who lived as a hermit near the Sacred Monastery of the Archangels in Thasos,

4. Our Holy and God-bearing Father Euphrosynos, who lived as a hermit on the island of Thasos and practiced asceticism on Holy Mount Athos,

5. The Holy and Glorious New Martyr John the Tailor, who was born in Maries of Thasos and was martyred in Constantinople, and

6. Our Venerable Mother and Confessor Haido, who came from Stanos of Halkidiki and practiced asceticism in Thasos.
